The Riga StratCom Dialogue 2021 is the leading event on strategic communications and leadership in the information domain. Since 2015 this international event has brought together international organisations, governments, the military community, academia and the private sector to discuss the most pressing issues shaping today’s information environment.
Since the establishment of the NATO StratCom COE in Riga, Latvia, the Centre has become a hub of knowledge and a meeting place for experts and practitioners studying and shaping the role of strategic communications in the digital age.
On the first day of the event H.E. Ms. Věra Jourová discussed securing the future of our democracies, H.E. Mr. Jan Havránek and Jānis Sārts talked about foreign interference in Europe, H.E. Mr. Mircea Geoană discussed how NATO continues to adapt to the new security environment and H.E. Ms. Kaja Kallas spoke about the way we can effectively tackle the infodemic. Later on, Dr. Hans P. Kluge, Mr. Imran Ahmed, Dr. Sander Van Der Linden and Mr. Raul Rebane joined for a discussion focusing on the challenges of the infodemic. Following that, Dr. Marie-Ève Carignan, H.E. Ms. Amanda Lind and Dr. Alina Polyakova took part in a panel session focused on the future of democracy.
